Create something outside! You can paint, draw, use your favorite material or try one you’ve never created with before. Making art outdoors can be a fun way to get inspired and see things from a new perspective.
Colors can mean different things to each of us, and they can also bring up different feelings. Create something using only colors that calm you. Think about why the colors you chose to create with calm you, and feel free to share that when you post your creation.
Share a photograph of something you think is beautiful. You could take a new photo, or dig up one of your old favorites. When you share your picture, feel free to share why it’s beautiful to you.
Create something out of repurposed materials! This could mean decorating something you already own, or arranging objects in a new way.
Make a piece of art related to a quote or phrase you like. This could be words that inspire you, or remind you of something you want to embrace more in your life.
This Artie Challenge is all about experimentation—create something using two (or more) materials you’ve never used together. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, embrace the process of trying something new! You never know what creative opportunities you’ll find.
Make a scribble drawing. You’ll draw a simple scribble and turn it into something meaningful to you—using line, shape, color and your creativity!
Make something for someone you love! Craft a card, bake a treat, find your own creative way to tell someone that you value and appreciate them.
Share a picture of your favorite thing about Spring! It could be a place or a color, a material or a feeling—anything about the season that lights you up.
Make a collage. Get creative with your materials—scraps of wrapping paper, magazine clippings, whatever you have around the home! See what creative materials you can find, and what creative journey they can take you on.
Take time to let someone know you’re thinking of them by writing them a letter or sending them a card. By designing a card or filling the envelope with things they’d enjoy, you can brighten their day and remind them how valued they are. It’s also a fun chance to bring creativity into your day!

Our art can represent literal things we see in the world, but it doesn’t have to! Draw or paint something abstract—try using just shapes colors and lines to create your artwork.
Practicing gratitude is a great way to care for your mental health. One simple way to practice gratitude is by writing a list of the things you are thankful for. You could write a new list each day, or make a list to add to throughout the month. However you choose to write your gratitude list, you’ll be able to look back on it for inspiration whenever you need it.
Taking care of our mental health is something we all have to do, and some days require more care than others. This Artie Challenge is to make a piece of art for your past self, to celebrate how far you’ve come since the beginning of your mental health journey. Keep this piece handy for when you need a reminder that there are always better things ahead.
Get creative outside with sidewalk chalk! You could make a giant game board, or write an inspiring message for your neighbors to see.
Journaling is a great way to reflect and explore feelings. This Artie Challenge is a journaling prompt: What color do you feel like today? Use that color to express how you’re feeling on paper—you could draw, write or use a mix of both! Create however feels good to you.
